We have a great opportunity for a Permit officer to join our defence sector, which includes a contract at a facility near Reading.

The roles require Security Clearance at SC level with some to DV level, therefore the ability to obtain clearance is essential.

**Key Responsibilities**

Accountable to the M&E Permit Office Lead for the day to day running of work control and authorisation of Mechanical and Electrical Safety documents following the Permit Office Procedure and Key Control Process.
- Control M,E&I works from the M&E Permit Office
- Provide “front of house” services from the Permit Office
- Issuing and sign back of specific permits and other safety documents on site.
- Maintain and promote high personal standards in Environment, Safety, Health, Security and Quality.
- Ensure the agreed records and documentation are produced and maintained to demonstrate compliance to relevant quality, performance, standards, and legislation.

**About you**
- NVQ or equivalent qualification in a M / E discipline or a recognised apprentice training scheme essential.
- Experience in de-confliction essential.
- Experience of configuration and modification control essential.
- SMSTS, SSSTS, IOSH, NEBOSH desirable.
- Experience of operating an M&E permit office desirable.
- Experience of working on plant & equipment desirable.
- Experience working in a Nuclear technical environment under licence conditions desirable.
- Experience of audit examination by the ONR desirable.

**Right to Work & Security Checks**
