Installer Driver

Here at Buy It Direct we are looking to expand our current team of Delivery Driver / Installers who are an integral part of our 2-man home delivery operation. As the face of Buy It Direct you will deliver a friendly and professional service to our customers.

This is a full-time permanent position paying up to £25,000 per year dependent on experience, your base location will be the Buy It Direct depot (EMDC) based in Castle Donington.

As a driver / installer you will be responsible for delivering and installing products in our customer’s homes, this includes various free standing and integrated appliances (Fridge Freezers, Dishwashers, Washing Machines. Hobs, Hoods, Ovens, and Ranges) as well as building flat packed furniture.

**More about the Role**
- Working as part of a team you will be responsible for loading and securing customers products on to the van.
- Before departure you will check the van and the load, also ensuring you have the tools on-board to complete the installations / flat packed furniture builds.
- You will be driving the company van or acting as drivers’ mate to deliver to our customers.
- Prior to arrival at the customers home you will be responsible for contacting them to ensure delivery can be made and give an estimated time of arrival.
- You will be delivering the product to the customers room of choice and carry out any pre booked additional services at point of delivery: Electrical installation, installation, and fitting of built-in appliances into existing units, building of flat packed furniture.
- Offering an unwrapping service, we also offer removal of old product / appliances for recycling.
- Some administration is needed this includes collation of proof of delivery using electronic device or paperwork.
- On arrival back at site you will work with the team to sort and off load returns, old appliances and packaging and de-brief at the depot.
- Other tasks will include cleaning and washing the van and ensuring the van is always secure.
- Following Health & Safety and operating procedures.
- Supporting the training other team members.

**So, what’s important to us?**
- Full UK driving licence, due to insurance you will have no more than a maximum of 6 penalty points or less
- No significant accidents in past 5 years
- Full flexibility around starts times and able to work weekends and bank holidays as required on a 5 over 7 basis, however standard working patterns are Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday’s.
- Polite and engaging personality, when dealing with customers
- You will require practical skills, ideally with some experience of kitchen fitting, electrical wiring and basic joinery is advantageous.
- Due to the physical nature of the role, lifting and manoeuvring large appliances a high level of physical fitness is needed.
- Able to manage each installation through to completion
