This is a new role created to lead the implementation of an ambitious climate strategy. As a member of the Treasury and Investments team, this individual will be expected to develop and execute a best-in-class approach for the oversight of climate risk related to the organisation's investments, covering climate risk assessment and asset manager engagement. The role will also support manager selection and appointment exercises. The role will be supported by a retained external investment consultant.

**DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT EXCLUSIVE TO**:
- Lead research, analysis, and evaluation of climate and other sustainability risks to the investment portfolios across asset classes
- Develop climate resilience analytical capabilities and investment tools to assess physical and transition risks and opportunities
- Prepare and present regular analyses of climate risk exposure and manager responsiveness to senior officials and the Corporation's respective investment committees
- Build effective relationships with our investment managers, the London CIV, and retained investment consultants on sustainability matters
- Implement and refine the climate engagement strategy and manager expectations developed as part of the Corporation's Net Zero pathway
- Lead engagements with our investment managers on climate risk and opportunity, and wider sustainability issues
- Develop and implement stewardship policies and practices and administer our engagement escalation framework
- Engage with leading academic researchers, think-tanks, and industry initiatives to evaluate emerging climate-related stewardship trends
- Contribute to decisions on strategic asset allocation and investment strategy.
- Initiate, design, coordinate, and deliver strategic engagement campaigns targeting risks to the investment portfolios
- Identify appropriate collaborative initiatives and develop and maintain the Corporation's membership of such groups.
- To help promote the Corporation's brand and position as a leading asset owner and identify appropriate opportunities for sharing our experiences and learning.
- Lead the Corporation's sustainability and stewardship reporting, including the annual TCFD disclosure and PRI reporting process
- Manage quarterly sustainability data collection from investment managers consistent with industry best practice
- Representing the financial investments work-stream within the climate action programme and reporting progress against meeting the 2040 decarbonisation goal and interim targets
- Actively seek to implement the company's Occupational Health and Safety Policy in relation to the duties of the post, and at all times give due regard to the health and safety of both themselves and others when carrying out their duties

- To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be requested appropriate to the grade
- Comply with the Financial Regulations and properly monitor and report budget out-turn positions on a regular basis as required, including alerting the Line Manager and Chamberlains representative of any significant budget variance in a timely manner and taking appropriate corrective action
**SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED**:
- Educated to at least degree level (or equivalent) or have significant and demonstrable experience working in a relevant field which would demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge
- An extensive knowledge of sustainable investment
- Extensive prior experience in relationship management with fund managers
- Understanding of ESG trends
- Excellent communication skills
