About the Role
OVERVIEW
The Performance Specialist is part of the performance team which is, responsible for firm-wide oversight of performance calculations, contribution and attribution analysis, composite review, and GIPS compliance. This role involves working closely with internal departments including Investment Products and Fund Services (IPFS), the Global Relationship Group, Fixed Income Quant, as well as groups within Investment Services and Technology to provide analysis and guidance on performance related inquiries and business issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities:
- Ensure portfolio performance integrity for our global fixed income book of business through use and oversight of proprietary performance reporting, attribution, and contribution tools; review and analyze performance results and communicate findings to investment and client service personnel- Act as point person for the global fixed income investors and portfolio analysts for their performance inquiries and develop a deep knowledge of investment philosophies and process- Provide guidance on performance attribution methodologies and results to the Global Client Group, Portfolio and Product Management, and Consultant Relations; work with Fixed Income Attribution Working Group to enhance attribution for evolving fixed income products- Liaise with Investment Services and Technology on various operational challenges that impact performance and the investment process including pricing, derivatives processing, corporate actions, asset transfers, and cash flows- Collaborate with Information Technology to develop, test, and integrate technology solutions to enhance our performance reporting and analysis tools-
- As part of the small team in the London office there will also be an opportunity to assist with general performance queries from the local offices in Europe and to provide support/cover for our performance team colleagues in Asia
QUALIFICATIONS-
- 8 years of investment related experience including strong performance knowledge; extensive knowledge of global fixed income investing; derivatives and attribution experience a plus- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Demonstrated analytical skills and strong attention to detail- Investment curiosity and desire to develop a deep understanding of our global fixed income investment approaches- Proven track record for initiating and implementing change- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize support and project work- Aptitude to be flexible, self directed, and think outside the box- Designation of or progress towards CFA, CIPM or MBA preferred
