**About the role and our team**
Would you like to play an important role supporting pupils with complex needs at school?
Join our team as a **Lunchtime Assistant** in the Specialist Provision Centre at St Ninian's High School where you’ll initially be based at our Lower School site
A typical day in this role will involve **supporting pupils** before, during and after their midday meals. Pupils require assistance with eating and attending to their personal needs. As well as this, you’ll also encourage interaction and appropriate play between pupils.
You’ll assist in the holistic care of the pupils and support their emotional wellbeing during this less structured time of the day.
This role allows you to be **part of our small, dedicated and supportive team**, who work hard to support both each other and the pupils we work with. If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, we’d love to hear from you
**What skills and experience do I need?**
- There are **no formal qualifications or experience** required to be a Lunchtime Assistant.
- Good **interpersonal and communication skills, ability to promote positive play** with pupils, and a **willingness to work as part of great teams** **are essential for this role.
**What can this role offer me?**
- You’ll be offered the** **chance to complete relevant training **including first aid and moving and handling.
- Lunchtime Assistant work is a** **fantastic opportunity to gain experience working with pupils** in a school environment. Many of our Lunchtime Assistants have gone on to work in contracted roles as School Administrators, Education Support Officers or even Teachers

**Additional information**
Please note an enhanced with barring police check is required for this post, which the Department will cover the cost of for you. Please note if you have lived for more than 6 months outside of the UK in the last 5 years, you’ll be required to obtain a Letter of Good Standing from the appropriate authorities in the relevant locations, please read the guidance about how to obtain this letter.
A relocation package and interview expenses are not available for this role.
