Job Introduction
As a **Regional Safeguarding and Children in Care Lead for** HCRG Care Group (Southwest region), you will be leading a team who are focused on continuous improvement. The main purpose of this leadership role is to support our Wiltshire and Bath and Northeast Somerset services, HCRG Care Group to meet its responsibilities to safeguard/protect children, young people, and adults. This includes contributing to our national organisational wide safeguarding agenda.
This is a permanent, role working 4 days per week with the opportunity to split your time between services and home.
Main Responsibilities
Your main responsibility of this senior role will be to lead and manage the safeguarding and children in care teams and be responsible to and accountable within the managerial framework.
You will:
- Work as a member of the leadership team, including the wider HCRG Care Group safeguarding and children in care sub-committee
- Lead, support, supervise and coach our safeguarding and children in care colleagues within our region
- Be a key influencer in bringing innovative best practice to our service
- Develop programmes/ pathways that support the local safeguarding team to deliver their contractual obligations and to optimise the health outcome for children, young people, and adults and to contribute to the development of wider organisational safeguarding agenda
- Provide assurance to the leadership team that our safeguarding services are robust
- Be registered on either Part 1 of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) register as a registered children’s nurse and / Part 1 of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Adults Nurse and Part 3 register as a specialist community public health nurse and having completed a specific programme with a child and family focus
- Have completed specific post-registration training in safeguarding or children in care prior to commencement in the post (including law, policy, and practice at Level 2 or Post Graduate Diploma (PGDip)
- Have a minimum of three years’ experience practicing in the field of safeguarding.
- Experience of working as a Named Nurse/ Safeguarding Lead
- Have the ability to write detailed and comprehensive reports and reviews
