A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading global contractor on site in Oswestry. The Quantity Surveyor will join a team to drive the commercial objectives on a Water Sector project.

This is a great opportunity to work with a leading specialist on a circa £120 million project within the construction industry whilst learning from an experienced team on a busy site.

**Duties**
- Provide assistance, support and advice on all commercial issues within the Project
- Encourage and develop a culture of commercial awareness within the team
- Preparation of Valuations/Applications for Payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract.
- Preparation of Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant supporting documentation.
- Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts.
- Undertake the contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers.
- Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
- Use the cost allocation/coding which satisfies both internal and external requirements.
- Measurement of quantities in accordance with the standard methods of measurement as required.
- Identification of insurance claims and understanding policy coverage.
- Cash Management including WIP control and cash flow production

**Requirements**:

- Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying and desire to work towards Chartership.
- Ability to use own initiative where necessary knowing where to ask if there are circumstances that require input from Senior Management.
- Thorough understanding of good commercial working principles.
- Significant experience working across civils or infrastructure projects for a contractor.
- NEC option A, C or E contract knowledge and procurement/supply chain.
- Ability to measure value adding in planned vs actual estimating and cost.
- Understanding of commercial gateway process around increasing financial limits and relevant instructions to subcontractors.
