**Job overview**:
Stroke Rehabilitation Unit is a 16 bedded ward for Salford residents who have been admitted following an acute stroke. Staff work closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team, including a Ward Consultant, Consultant Nurse, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, therapy teams and specialist nurses to ensure patients achieve their full rehab potential, with the aim of safe discharge home independently or with support or into residential/nursing care.

At Salford Royal we aim to deliver Safe, Clean and Personal care every time and are committed in continuously striving to improve the care and services we deliver to our patients. Stroke Rehab is working toward achieving SCAPE status as assessed through the Trust Nursing Assessment and Accreditation System.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Clinical Support Worker to join the team on the Stroke rehabilitation Unit. You will be supported within the role with on-going training which includes the Stroke Foundation Program and completion of specific stroke competencies. You will work alongside Nursing staff, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.

**Essential criteria**:

- Care Certificate either upon appointment or within 12 weeks of commencement
- Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Maths Grade D-G)

**Desirable criteria**:

- NVQ Level 2 in Healthcare or a Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship already achieved

**Knowledge, Training & Experience**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Experience of working with members of the public or a desire to work in the Health Service
- Understanding of routine work procedures gained through a short induction period and on the job training.

**Desirable criteria**:

- Experience of working within a health or social care environment
- Experience of working within a team

**Skills & Abilities**:
**Essential criteria**:

- Good communication skills
- Basic IT skills

**Desirable criteria**:

- Good organisational skills
