**Financial Controller** Our client is a c£15m revenue, highly profitable business partnering governmental and large businesses across the UK on major projects. They are part of a c$1bn US business and as the most profitable division they are left alone to do their "magic". As acapital-intensive operation they require a creative and inquisitive assessment and manager for their finances. They are looking for a Financial Controller to head the Finance & Accounting Team. You will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) reporting to the MD. The succession plan already exists, this role will deputise for the MD, progressing to full FDand potentially over time become an MD here or within the wider group. As your understanding of the business increases you will be able to identify opportunities for subtle improvements but also for shifts in the operational process. It is this hunger for relentless continuous improvement that we are looking for and will setyou are apart from the field. What we are looking for: - An analytical eye that can then share that analysis in an accessible way with other members of the SLT. - Awareness of how events in one area impact across the organisation. - Drive economic "What-if" or 'thought experiments’ sharing the findings and the ideas. - Prepare monthly management accounts and again make the data valuable to the SLT. - Prepare and file regulatory information to the correct external bodies or present to group finance. - Manage and deliver the annual budget process with SLT to assist in achieving the strategic objectives. - Monitor the budget and respond to deviation. - Delivering strategic growth ideas to enhance the company's performance, both financially and operationally. Your ideal profile: - Qualified accountant ACA, ACCA, CIMA - PQE of working in an ambition and growing SME or - PQE of a boutique investment house analysing performance, opportunities and weaknesses. - Critical ability to use financial information to formulate and propose improved business strategies. - Both technical and commercial accounting skills. - Experience of managing a team c3 staff. - Strong business partnering and communications skills. - Ambition alongside proven leadership skills.
