The postholder will manage and professionally lead a Spiritual Care Service including a diverse team of chaplains in its work across the organisation. This includes responsibility for the formation, development and delivery of a spiritual care strategy. Additionally, contributing to the inclusion of spirituality within the trust clinical strategy. And inclusive spirituality workstreams across care groups incorporating pastoral, spiritual and religious care for all service users.
The post holder will be responsible for managing the service, supervising the chaplains, all spiritual care staff and volunteers. The post holder will also have responsibility for the professional development of the service including all spiritual care service staff, in accordance with the standards and governance requirements for health care chaplains set out by the United Kingdom Board of Healthcare Chaplaincy (UKBHC). This role requires a self-motivated, autonomous and engaging individual who excels in creative solutions, and is skilled in compassionate and inspirational leadership. It is a pivotal role in the trusts development of holistic mental health care, incorporating the multi faith, belief and cultural dimensions in healing, health and mental health recovery.
