Pr Events Assistant

The PR Events Assistant will work within the wider Community and Communications team which provides internal and external communications, digital, design,?community and?educational?services?for the Wessex Water Group.?The role will help support a wide programme of PR events and projects and provides opportunities to learn more about the water industry and spend time with different teams across the business.

**Job responsibilities**

Working as an integral member of the Community and Communication team, you will be:

- providing administrative support to PR events, activities and workflows
- developing and supporting a programme of internal and external events, including but not limited to water refill events, education events and larger business wide events
- collating and reporting on events and data, processing invoices and writing reports and briefing notes
- working with teams and departments across the business to deliver outcomes and work to deadlines
- managing and overseeing events on the day of event set-up, including problem-solving, communicating with staff and liaising with contractors and other event organisers
- working with external partners to organise and deliver events
- providing other support as required for the Community and Communications team.

**Role requirements**
- Experience in event management, community engagement or public relations.
- Excellent multitasking, organisational and administrative skills.
- Efficient in Microsoft Office packages - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Customer service skills - comfortable in a public facing role with the ability to remain calm under pressure without losing a customer-service focus, while being willing to problem solve and respond to customer needs.
- Adopt a methodical approach and be able to prioritise your workload to ensure you deliver an excellent service to our customers and partners.
- Focused with an eye for detail, a positive ‘can do’ attitude and a proactive approach to work, as well as being self-motivated.
- Knowledge of the water industry is beneficial but not essential.
