This is a supportive role, working closely with the Technical Manager and nutritionists ensuring feed quality & safety across ruminants & monogastric compounds. A biological or scientific background at degree level is advantageous

**Hours of work**

Monday - Friday 40 hours a week, 830am - 530pm - This can vary to 8.00-5.00pm to suit the needs of the business

**Key Responsibilities**
- Analysis to establish trend monitoring
- Assisting with validation of supplements & new raw materials
- Assist with management of blend & compound formulations
- Liasing with the mill operations & intake team for RM quality and sampling analysis.
- Updating Raw Material Matrix’s across computer systems - inc. BestMix, AX, DSL
- Liaising with Suppliers & External Support contacts including nutritionists & premix suppliers
- Involvement in specific microbiological steps within the mill
- Assisting with new product setups
- Ensuring products and labels are compliant with legislation & codes of practice
- Assisting and supporting the Technical Manager.
- Assisting in the maintenance of documents and procedures for audit purposes
- Producing and issuing the sampling schedule for finished feeds and raw materials for laboratory analysis bi-monthly.
- Weekly review database values to drive business decision making and enhance profitability through accurate formulation.

**Quality**
- Manage Raw Material/Finished product analysis requirements for the business by:

- producing and issuing the sampling schedule for finished feeds and raw materials for laboratory analysis bi-monthly.
- Maintain a database of values to drive business decision making and enhance profitability through accurate formulation.
- Working with the laboratories to obtain results for any “special samples”, sending them for analysis and interpreting and communicating results.
- Attend meetings with external formulators and customers to review animal performance and identify areas for development.
- Assist with the checking of prescriptions.

**Quality - Complaints**
- Assist with complaint investigation through investigation of sample analysis, production records, weights, alarms and traceability.
- Refer queries to other departments where necessary.
- Work with CSD Team Leader to compile and report on Complaints, issues and resolutions.

**Note**

These roles and responsibilities will change from time to time and the post holder is required to undertake any additional duties as deemed appropriate

Staff are required to participate in training, workshops and meetings considered relevant to their job

Staff must carry out their duties with full regard to the rules, policies and procedures and conditions of service contained in their employment contracts and staff handbook

**Staff are required to undertake any other task that is deemed reasonable within their skill set**

**Salary**: £20,000.00 per year
