On Call Support Workers

**Out of hours telephone support for care staff, service users and next of kin. This role is remote and is worked from home, 2 -3 evenings per week and up to two or three weekends per month.**

**You will need to have previous care experiance and be able to communicate effectively and deal with all telephone calls promptly and proactively.Keeping service users and staff updated on any changes to the services provided.**

You will be taking telephone calls from care staff, service users / their family members and possibly from health care professionals e.g nurses, doctors, paramedics should they need to contact Burbage Homecare once the office has closed. You will be required to deal with any queries, staff sickness and respond swiftly to any issues or emergencies that may occur throughout the Evening or Weekend that you are on call.

This role will include if / when necessary acting as a bank carer in the event of staff sickness of which you can not find alternative cover.

This position is flexible, can be carried out from home and will include some week day evenings and weekends. If you have to undertake care visits you will be paid in addition for all visits made on an hourly rate. Plus mileage and travel time.

You will be paid £50.00 per evening and £210.00 per week end including Friday evening for On Call duties.

You will need to have a full driving licence and the use or a car for this role due to any travel that may be involved.

You will be required to - Answer all telephone calls in a helpful / professional manner, respond to staff absences by arranging appropriate cover as and when necessary, ensuring that all visits are staffed, respond to any issues / emergency situations promptly and efficiently, provide care if necessary if you can not find alternative cover. You will be required to Keep the Home Care Manager up to date if a situation arises that is of serious nature.Support is always available whilst you are on - call.
