We are thrilled to offer an opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join our team at Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in York.

Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre is a specialist Level 2 purpose-built neurorehabilitation facility, rated as GOOD by the Care Quality Commission. Set on a 3.5-acre plot, surrounded by mature woodlands and well-maintained grounds, providing care for up to 26 patients. We are part of the wider Active Care Group Neuro Network (consisting of 25+ sites nationally) and we focus on the use of clinical expertise, innovation, and technology to meet patients’ expectations of their rehabilitation goals.

The team delivers high-quality and intensive neurological rehabilitation; physical, cognitive, functional, and vocational assessments; behavioural management and complex disability assessments for adults.

We support patients with acquired brain injury, traumatic brain injury, severe neurological conditions, complex stroke, and spinal cord injury.

The interdisciplinary team is led by a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine. Patients benefit from access to our neuro-specialist team consisting of a Junior Doctor, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Neuropsychologists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Technicians, specialist Nurses and Rehabilitation Assistants.

**What you'll be working**:
This role is 11.5 hours per week, with days and times to be agreed.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Keep people safe from any harm and protect their human rights
- Deliver clinical interventions under direct supervision
- Work with colleagues to assess patients and review their care in preparation for MDT meetings
- Assist in the formulation of care plans requiring psychological treatment, under the direct supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist
- Ensure all clinical documentation is of a high standard and patient notes are maintained and filed in the appropriate way
- Assist in the design and implementation of service evaluation and research projects for specialist services
- Provide a high level of communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain and contribute to the standards of professional care, ethics, policies, and procedures

**What you'll have**:

- A BPS recognised Psychology undergraduate degree of 2:1 or above
- Previous experience within the care sector
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- An understanding of the needs of people with neurological problems and/or other disabilities
