**Job Summary**

The role is within the Energy Team and responsible for the delivery of CCS’ commercial frameworks, providing gas and electricity products and services to public sector customers. Our commercial agreements deliver best value solutions and offer a range of purchasing strategies to meet the requirements of our customers.

Responsibilities in the role include monitoring supplier performance, strong stakeholder engagement to deliver improvements in service and implementing initiatives to support growth and to maximise value for public sector stakeholders.

**Directorate Overview**

Commercial is the largest directorate in CCS. We are responsible for the design, development, implementation and management of our commercial agreements, which are used by our customers across the public sector. Our customers rely on the deep category expertise of our specialist teams to design commercial agreements which allow them to access markets at pace while managing supply chain and regulatory risk. Our services also advise them on the best way to achieve value in complex markets. We have helped our customers:

- spend more than £34 billion through the agreements we create
- enjoy more than £3.5 billion in commercial benefits annually through our agreements

We use our deep knowledge and expertise of public sector suppliers, to create market and category strategies.

These strategies are used within CCS to create market leading commercial agreements that help shape how common goods and services are bought across the public sector.

Our skills are also used in carrying out commercial policy, development of new products and services and supplier relationship management.

**Job description**:
**Team Summary**

The Energy category manages spend of c.£4bn p.a. and supports buyers from every area of central government and the wider public sector - encompassing, gas, electricity, fuels and water. With circa 28 colleagues in the Energy category we work collaboratively to deliver optimal results for our customers.

The category has a variety of specialisms, including specialist customer service, trading and risk teams. The CAS role falls within the supplier management team, primarily responsible for the delivery of Supply of Energy agreements.

You will be speaking daily with our energy suppliers, colleagues in the Energy category and customers, to ensure the smooth running of the framework agreements.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- End to end management of commercial agreements
- Management and monitoring of supplier performance against relevant Key Performance Indicators
- Creating supplier action plans, identification of cost reduction and value added services opportunities; and risk management
- Developing relationships and collaborating with customers and colleagues to ensure the delivery of an exceptional service
- Collating, reviewing and critically analysing data to support the effective management of commercial agreements to ensure compliance with all policies and regulations and identify emerging risks / issues and opportunities for growth
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver growth, attract new customers, drive customer retention and provide enhanced value for money
- Producing marketing materials - for example, case studies, newsletters, presentations and Webinars
- Supporting the development and implementation of strategies aligned to support the ongoing growth of the framework
- Developing all necessary documentation in readiness to go to market for new/renewed commercial agreements to required quality and on time. This may include PINs, OJEU notices, specifications and pricing models
- Following processes and procedures to deliver robust supplier relationship and performance management. Providing recommendations for improvements in processes and implementing solutions to the benefit of the category
