As the Health Safety and Wellbeing Manager I am proud to be part of a special team which is hard working, collegiate and supportive. In order to elevate the profile of our multidisciplinary Employee Health and Wellbeing service, we are looking for a talented, motivated and dynamic occupational health professional who will inspire others, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the table and confidently taking ownership of health and wellbeing. As an Occupational Health Advisor, you will work closely with like-minded occupational health professionals, ensuring our service is delivered efficiently and effectively.

We are looking for an Occupational Health professional with a proven track record of working in this industry sector, preferably in a large and diverse organisation, and the ability to build strong proactive relationships with others. Working within a relatively small team, you will be well supported in terms of practice knowledge and development to ensure that you are the very best at what you do. **Please note that it is important that you are registered with the NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) and more details can be found in the job description for this role.**

**About the role**

**In this role you will have responsibility for**:

- Assisting the Occupational Health Manager to deliver and provide an efficient and effective Employee Health and Wellbeing Service to Departments of the Council, Line Managers, Schools, and other beneficiaries of the service.
- Providing a case management service in relation to sickness absence providing professional expertise in determining the need to refer employees for interventions, providing information and advice on fitness for work, rehabilitation, and reasonable adjustments in a timely manner.
- Writing outcome reports following client consultation and or presenting at meeting forums, specific information to enable the organisation to make informed decisions linked to employee health and wellbeing.
- Carrying out health surveillance or other statutory medical checks in line with health and safety legislation.
- Actively working with external occupational health partners to ensure that an effective and efficient service is provided to the organisation.
- Producing records and other information on a regular basis to demonstrate the contribution of the service of occupational health and wellbeing.
- Guiding and advising management on issues which are linked to the Employee Health and Wellbeing agenda on a local and national level, ensuring that the service is proactive and continuously improves in its delivery and performance.
- Representing Human Resources and the Council as appropriate at internal, local and regional meetings, to ensure effective development of occupational health strategies and interventions.
- Monitoring, auditing and evaluating occupational health practices and interventions and developing options for improvement where necessary.
- Discharging all duties in a professional manner.
