The post is a training role within the NHS Talking Therapies Programme. You will work within the service providing low intensity interventions at Step 2, whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role at University of Exeter. The training post will equip trainee PWPs to provide a range of low intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) based self
- management interventions to patients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression. They will attend all taught University and self-study days required by the education provider, as specified within National Low Intensity curriculum, and work in the service using their newly-developed skills.
You will be providing IN PERSON treatment in Cornwall. Please use the PCN Map in the documents to specify in your supporting statement which area you could work (East/North, Mid, West). Patient care is delivered by phone, face to face and by video through the online platform Attend Anywhere.
In the role you will be required to complete accurate assessment of risk to self and others. You will provide patient centred care, collaboratively working with patients to support them with achieving their goals for therapy. You will also be required to make onward referrals or signpost patients to alternative services should Talking Therapies not be the appropriate service.
For your trainee role, your duties include attending to your academic responsibilities. You will be expected to attend all of your University days, follow the processes and guidance provided by the University, complete the assignments set, engage in additional reading and complete your online portfolio within the timeframes outlined by the University.
