**Adolescent Support Team Worker
- SEEDS**

The SEEDS Adolescent Support Unit is an ‘OUTSTANDING’ service and an exciting opportunity as arisen for a full time Adolescent support Team Worker.

The SEEDS is a trauma informed, therapeutic residential and short break service which aims to support a positive journey for our young people and families. The service offers young people overnights stays, outreach and direct work sessions. Young people referred our service are aged between 11- 17 and are predominantly on the edge of care.

Our strength is the relationship-based practice that we model with young people and families referred to our service. Positive relationships are formed and we strive to make a positive difference to their lives.

This role is integral to the service and ‘The SEEDS’ team. We are looking to recruit someone who is highly motivated, therapeutic, creative, caring, enthusiastic, passionate and determined. You will be working alongside a diverse and cohesive team providing support to young people and their families.

This role involves supporting a small number of young people allocated to you. The majority of whom will be supported on Child Protection Plans. You will be offering therapeutic care and interventions to vulnerable children and young people many of whom have complex needs. You will be skilled at undertaking direct work with young people and families, to promote and safeguard in accordance with their appropriate plans. You will have exceptional communication skills and be able to use these to put young people and families at ease.

You will need to have knowledge and awareness of the Children’s Homes Regulations and other legislation regarding Children and Young People relevant to this post.

You will be required to record sessions, ensuring these are up to date by way of good quality recordings including observations. Young people’s case files will need to be maintained to a high standard and include individual plans and risk assessments. You will be required to produce reports and updates for meetings, these need to be accurate and evidence based including the wishes and feelings of young people and their families.

At times the role involves dealing with crisis interventions which may arise and necessitate flexibility and time management.

You will be recognised as a valued, full team member of staff and you will receive all the necessary training and support.

A Diploma level 3 which is equivalent to NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care/Children and Young people or be working towards it, other equivalent qualifications to be considered (in an associated field i.e. Child Care, Youth Work, Working with Children and Young People) is an essential requirement of this post.

The hours are varied on a rota basis and include weekends, evenings, sleeping in duties, nights and bank holidays
