Mental Health Services across LSCFT are undergoing a period of rapid growth and modernisation. In Central Lancashire, LSCFT is opening a specialist 11 bedded unit providing inpatient service for older adults.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced clinical psychologist to join our new dynamic inpatient team. The post holder will be an integral part of the MDT providing specialist psychological consultation, assessment and interventions. The role will also involve staff training and supervision of psychology and non-psychology colleagues.

The post is professionally attached to the locality older adult psychology team and wider network, both of which offer a friendly and supportive space, with a strong commitment to providing quality services for older people in Lancashire. The Trust is also committed to staff development, and have invested in on-going training and development opportunities including funding recent further therapy training and leadership courses.

Although not essential, it is desirable that the post holder has additional qualifications/skills or be willing to complete training in specific psychological interventions, for example, EMDR, compassion-focused therapy; ACT, trauma focused work etc

The post holder will be responsible for providing confident experienced clinical and managerial input. This will include the following with MDT support:

- To provide a qualified Clinical Psychology Service to service users of the Skylark Ward including the provision of enhanced specialist psychological assessment and intervention.
- To offer advice and consultation on service user’s psychological care to psychology and non-psychology colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the services policies and procedures.
- To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area in which the post holder works.

Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
