Outdoor Pig Stockperson

We are a long established family run outdoor pig breeding business operating in Hampshire looking for a stockperson to join our 5 to 6 person team on one of our RSPCA assured outdoor pig breeding farms near Winchester.

**Job responsibilities of Pig Stockperson**:

- You will be actively involved with all areas of the pig breeding cycle
- On a day to day basis this includes feeding, bedding up, moving, and handling the pigs and piglets
- You will also maintain the condition and appearance of the farming unit
- The successful applicant will be able to follow instructions and demonstrate competent stock management skills.
- **What you will need**:

- You must always prioritize and adhere to animal welfare
- To be self-motivated, flexible and a great team player
- Be able to work outside in all weather
- You must be reliable and demonstrate good time keeping
- Previous agricultural experience is desirable
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, fencing and tractor maintenance.
- All relevant training will be provided on farm. As part of the job you will be required to drive a tractor with a trailer, **so a driving license will be necessary and past experience would an** **advantage**.
- You will require your own transport to get to and from work.

**Pay and benefits**
- £25,600 - £30,000 depending on age, experience and hours worked
- The shift pattern is Monday to Friday with alternate weekend work
- Pension - 3% employer contributions/5% employee contributions
