**Unreal Engine FX TD / **Visual Effects Artist**

Unreal FX TDs at Redefine Originals gather a variety of 3D assets produced by our Build, Layout and Animation departments and use multiple software, primarily Unreal Engine but also Houdini, to create particle, rigid body, fluid, cloth, fur and hair simulations.

The responsibilities in this role will be to deliver the Director's vision in terms of effects for the creation of animated feature films and tv series within the team, in direct collaboration with creative, technical and production leaders. You will collaborate with concept artists and creative leads to develop and maintain artistic styles and content. Additional technical responsibilities may include the development of tools.

**Must Have**:

- Extensive knowledge of Houdini and Unreals Niagara's system and Unreal Engine
- Proven experience in producing effects such as smoke, fire, clouds, water, steam and explosions, within Unreal's Niagara's system and Houdini.
- Knowledge of in-game shaders
- Experience of working with physics and destructibles
- Proven production experience on multiple high-end Games or feature films
- An eye for details, good sense of timing, and thorough understanding of techniques and technologies relating to physical simulation in computer graphics
- Familiarity with pipeline issues and problem solving**Nice to Have**:

- Ability to create high-quality particle effects in any 3D game engine.
- Ability to create high-quality particle effects in any DCC tool ( Houdini, Maya)
- Experience in other areas of visual effects (TV) will also be taken into account
- A general TD background
- Maya, Python, Hscript or Mel knowledge
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix and Windows based operating system
