**Job title**: Stores Assistant **Responsible to**:Purchasing Manager

**Department**: Purchasing **Brief outline**: To assist the Stores team in the smooth

running of the Goods In/Stores/Tool Store/Yard areas

**Main Responsibilities**
- Provide assistance for all Goods In/Material Stores related duties, including checking, booking in, labelling and correct storage of deliveries
- Assist with picking & packing of parts required for jobs and sales orders, creating delivery notes and updating of internal systems
- Assist with smooth running of Tool Store, including safe storage and maintenance of equipment (predominantly power tools and lifting aids)
- Assist with tidying of yard and stores areas to maintain safety and cleanliness
- Loading and unloading of goods using FLT
- Assist with perpetual and annual stock takes
- Occasional driving duties, such as local deliveries and collections
- Heavy lifting/manual labour required

**Skills Needed**
- Experience of working in a stores and yard environment would be beneficial, although a positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn and develop are more important
- Physically fit (role involves heavy moving/lifting)
- Numerate and computer literate (competency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook would be an advantage)
- Good written and verbal communication
- Attention to detail
- Good organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and follow instructions
- Ability to work as part of a team, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills and always remaining flexible
- Accurate and conscientious
- Logical and methodical, with good common-sense approach
- Enthusiasm for continuous improvement and adaptable to change
- Responsible attitude to health & safety
- Full driving licence
- Fork lift licence (would be advantageous, although training will be provided)

**Performance/measurement review**:3 Month Probationary Review, annual appraisals thereafter
