**So, what does the role of an Underwriter here involve?**

As an Underwriter you will work with a panel of brokers in developing, maintaining, and underwriting profitable, target business in line with prescribed underwriting strategies and business plans across a range of specialist Commercial products, covering niche sectors including, Sports, Leisure & Entertainment industries.

This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities.
- Underwrite and administer risks (including new and existing business as well as midterm adjustments) and issue accurate, compliant documentation on behalf of Insurers.
- Demonstrate strong trading and negotiation skills in the attainment of new business.
- Achieve a high quality of underwriting and record keeping, as demonstrated through quality monitoring.
- Achieve any individual targets and contribute towards team/business targets.
- Contribute positively and proactively to business development and any relevant change.

**What experience does a Commercial Underwriter** **need?**
- Proven underwriting experience of Commercial Products including Commercial Combined and a good understanding of risk.
- Experience of working within an MGA environment and an understanding of the use of binding authority guidelines and authorities would be advantageous
- A working knowledge of legal and regulatory Insurance framework
- IT Skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point
- Ideally CII qualified or working towards
