**Role Purpose**

The buying assistant role is critical in supporting the effective running of the category to deliver the commercial plan. The Lead Buying Assistant is specialist in their area and will be a central point of contact for our BA community, delivering excellence through training, best practice and continuous improvements. This will enable our Commercial function to operate at their best and allow the brand to provide a breadth of range inclusive to all our customers, at a price they love. This role reports to Senior Buyer for Superdrug Stores Plc.

**Here's the exciting bit a day includes**
- Interacting with a variety of stakeholders: Supply Chain, Marketing, Merchandising, OB Design and Technical, Finance, Learning and Development
- Stakeholders from outside the BU: Suppliers
- Leading the induction of new BA’s to ensure they have the best possible start in the business, including 1:2:1 process training, - being a point of contact for questions and setting up time for introductions with key departments
- Being the voice of the BA community in project meetings and with the Senior Buying team
- Reviewing processes and ways of working and exploring ways to make them easier, faster and more efficient to standardize processes and bring some time back into the team
- Holding regular BA feedback sessions to understand any challenges and escalating to find the best way forward with the relevant teams
- Creating and maintaining process guides and ‘how-to’ documents for BA’s to refer to and support with ongoing training
- Managing a training calendar for the BA team to ensure training is planned, invitations sent and attendance captured
- Keeping up to date with any system updates and changes, communicating these to the BA Community what it means for them
- Working in collaboration with stakeholders on escalated errors, working them through to solution and communicating learnings
- Supporting across the buying departments with cover during peak periods or absence
- Providing exceptional service to customers both internal and external, working to proactively resolve queries and escalating where necessary

**What you'll need**
- Confidence in office 365 products, specifically excel
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Experience working within retail would be ideal
