**We are looking for a Healthcare Assistant Job Title to join the Salus Ward Team based at Torbay Hospital, Torquay.**
**Salus Ward is a newly developed 16 bedded mixed gender acute mental health ward for working age adults. It has been carefully designed to maximise the use of the space and light to create an open, safe and welcoming environment.**
**Salus Ward will join Haytor Ward as co-located within the South Devon and Torbay General Hospital site. This mental health centre incorporates the older adult inpatient ward, outpatient services and Home Treatment Team base.**
**Torbay is one of the five sites in the Open Dialogue trial (ODESSI - Open Dialogue: Development and Evaluation of a Social Network Intervention for Severe Mental Illness)**

£20,330 - £21,777 per annum pro rata (Band 3)

**About you**:You will have experience of working in a challenging and demanding mental health environment and have a sound understanding of recovery and self-management principles. The ability to work well within a team is essential. You will be required to carry out duties as directed by the qualified nursing staff. You will be excited by the opportunity of helping patients to overcome their mental health problems, and recover.

- If you do not hold a QCF/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, an equivalent qualification, or the Care Certificate - you will need to complete the Care Certificate within 3 months of commencement of the Band 3 post.- If you have a minimum of 6 months experience in the last 2 years working in a care role, but do not hold the Care Certificate you can complete the form “Care Certificate Evidence Document” from the additional documentation list to evidence that this experience is equivalent to the 15 standards as set out within the Care Certificate.
