Treasury Assistant

Arriva is one of the largest transport services organisations in Europe, employing some 46,000 people and delivering more than 1.2 billion passenger journeys across 14 European countries every year. **About the role** The position of Treasury Assistant will involve a variety of regular responsibilities as well as a spectrum of ad-hoc projects across the treasury function. You will provide regular support to the Treasury Manager in delivering services to Arriva operating companies and corporate centre functions on liquidity and financial risk management including associated controls. There will be requirement to produce and further develop reporting, including Treasury KPI’s. As part of your role, you will work closely with the Arriva Treasury team to ensure policy and processes are aligned with DB Treasury and help deliver value to the Arriva Group in conjunction with the rest of Treasury team and operating business. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Ensure day to day that the daily liquidity position file is fully uploaded and reporting all inhouse bank positions and investigate any non-reporting entities. - Support the Treasury Manager and provide backup to the Treasury Analyst on the quarterly fuel exposure reporting process, including any analysis on changes to the exposure reporting. - Input payment requests for UK CHAPS and Faster payment, intercompany transfers, and Cross Border payments. Ensure all payment requests are properly approved and verified before processing. - Manage the cash investments connected with UK Train operating companies and captive insurance company ensuring all times amounts invested are within counterparty limits and receiving optimal yield conditions. - Liaise with the wider treasury team to deliver cash and financial risk management solutions, including ongoing development on inhouse bank and cash concentration services. - Prepare and deliver to agreed deadlines regular Treasury reporting and any ad-hoc reporting required by the Treasury leadership team. **About you** It essential you have previous experience in a Corporate Treasury team, finance function or finance shared Service Centre, with a minimum of an undergraduate business degree in finance/accounting. You have strong Microsoft office skills and ideally intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge, capable of financial modelling. With strong numerical and analytical skills, you have a good eye for attention to detail, you are well organised and able to prioritise tasks and activities. You can work under your own initiative, with a targeted focus to add value and deliver outstanding results to tight deadlines, whilst absorbing information and skills quickly.
