At Babcock we're looking to recruit a Senior Data Engineer to work with customers across the defence sector in building solutions that deliver insight and contribute to better operational decisions. Based in Bristol, Leicester or Devonport in the Data Analyticsteam and reporting to the Data Analytics Lead Engineer the role will cover all aspects of Data Engineering and Data Architecture and will assist with the design and delivery of all initiatives through our Data Exploitation Campaign.

**Who we are looking for?**

We are looking for an accomplished Senior Data Engineer, with a proven track record of being able to transform data and deliver projects. Confident using SQL, with an excellent understanding of relational databases and the business intelligence lifecycle.

**What will you be doing?**:

- Assisting with designing of Data Storage and Maintenance solutions that puts the Data at the heart of our organisation, this will include owning and interacting with Data Warehouse and Data Lake solutions.
- Supporting the development a set of Key processes to support the maintenance delivery of Data Solutions
- Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality
- Contributing to the definition of the architecture needed to support a wide range of Data Solutions
- Helping with the Design and Implementation of Data Flows for the Analytics and Visualisation teams including the provision of data for BI Solutions
- Produce the ETL scripts to ensure the ETL process is optimal for the transformation of Data

**The experience you'll bring**:

- An understanding of working on Data Warehousing Solutions using Kimball methodology
- Knowledge of Database Architecture
- Implementation of Extraction, Transformation and Load (ETL) flows
- Good knowledge of Microsoft SSIS, Oracle Data Integrator or similar tools
- Data Modelling skills
- Knowledge of delivering solutions within Database Systems (SQL & NOSQL)
- Some Development understanding of Data APIs

You must be a British national and be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
