A Cambridge based new innovations firm have an opportunity working on the next generation of home care devices has an opportunity on a permanent basis for a senior embedded software engineer to join the team to meet the objectives of the business.

**Senior Firmware role overview**

The Senior Firmware Engineer will work within the Electronics and Embedded team to develop and test a range of next generation appliances for a successful and growing company which preserves the original dynamic and start-up atmosphere, and is backed byone of the largest private equity companies in the world. The work is very much “hands on” and will include software development for micro controllers, managing the entire software life cycle, hardware/software integration and working with other businessesto bring in the latest technological offerings. The position offers a hybrid working model of a 50/50 on-site and remote working and is paying a competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000 with lots of benefits.

**Senior Firmware Responsibilities**:

- Lead the firmware activities (entire life cycle) and lead more junior members of the team.
- ARM or PIC based RTOS C experience
- Ability to read Schematics interact with Electronics Engineers
- Embedded C (bare-metal and RTOS)
- Must be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of micro controllers and best practices for embedded software development

Beneficial experience:

- Strong skills with firmware IDEs/tools (Eclipse, Git, etc.). Previous experience with Cortex-M0 and Cortex-M4 would be highly beneficial
- Experience of IoT systems/platforms and communications e.g. NB-IoT.
- Ability to lead a small team
- Ability to communicate concisely and influence others
- Ability to plan and make decisions under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
