The Shared Apprenticeship Scheme brings together a some of Heathrow’s major construction companies to offer local people the chance to contribute on upcoming Heathrow projects, whilst gaining a nationally recognised qualification.

As an apprentice on the Shared Apprenticeship Scheme, you will have the opportunity to work with leading companies such as: Trinity, Wilson James, MACE, Atkins Global, Dyer & Butler and their supply chain.

Throughout your Apprenticeship, you will be fully supported by a dedicated Apprentice Programme Manager at the Heathrow Employment & Skills Academy, who will keep in touch and offer assistance as required throughout the duration of your Apprenticeship.

This vacancy is for
**Quantity Surveying**, however we have number of other roles available that can be searched through our careers page or by downloading our overview brochure.

**Duties will include**:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be making sure that day-to-day office tasks run smoothly. So, it’s important that you are organised, accurate and pay attention to detail. It is likely that you will be working for a construction-orientated firm, with some tasks including:

- Undertaking surveys, using relevant information to diagnose cause and mechanisms of failure
- Conducting capital and rental valuations, making client reports based on their findings
- Using a range office equipment and systems such as databases
- Managing and improving your own performance in a business environment
- Using economic principles to make efficient business decisions
- Making decisions based on sustainability - and understanding how and why it seeks to balance economic, environmental and social objectives

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Applicants need to have at least a Level 1 in Functional Skills or GCSE grade C/4 or above in English and grade B/5 Maths (GCSE’s valid within last 5 years)
- Grade 4 in ICT

**Qualification Duration**:
18-24 months

**Qualification Title**:
City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 Surveying Technician
