**Job Introduction**

As we are a small hotel, this is a perfect opportunity for someone looking to start their career in the hotel industry and learn all aspects of what is involved, as well as for someone who may already be working in one of the areas (ie Front Desk, Housekeeping or Food preparation) and looking to do more. The Hotel Assistant will do various jobs as necessary including covering breakfast preparation, interacting with and helping guests, cleaning rooms, along with reception duties also.

**Role Responsibilities**

The successful applicant will cover the following as needed:

- Assisting with the preparation of and serving of breakfast to customers in the morning.
- Ensuring that the kitchen and breakfast areas are clean and tidy
- Ensuring recycling procedures are followed
- Ensuring health and safety regulations are followed.
- Completing any administration as requested, including recording food temperatures, wastage and cleaning schedules
- Servicing and cleaning rooms and common areas, when required
- Learning general reception duties such as answering calls, checking guests in or out, answering guest queries, taking payments
- Raising any issues or customer suggestions and complaints to the Hotel Manager
- Promoting good teamwork and working in a friendly, efficient manner.
- Complying with all Company and Client policies and procedures, statutory regulations relating to the workplace, this will include but not limited to fire, health and safety, hygiene standards

We are looking for someone who:

- has flexibility to work any day between 7:30am to 6pm. (30 hours per week)
- ideally, has previous hotel experience, in reception/housekeeping/kitchen experience (but not essential, as training will also be given)
- has excellent customer service skills
- has excellent communication skills - written and verbal
- has the ability to demonstrate great teamwork
- has the ability to follow instructions accurately
- works well within a team environment as well as on their own.
- has basic knowledge of food hygiene and Health & Safety
- has a desire to learn and who is hardworking, reliable and loyal

Fluent written and spoken English is essential as this position involves significant customer interaction. A strong work ethic, good phone etiquette, multitasking abilities, and attention to detail are all essential attributes for success in this role.
