First Aid Lead

As **First Aid Lead, **you** **will be required to:
- Lead, develop, support and motivate trained First Aid Trainers. Ensuring continuous professional development of First Aid Trainers, in line with the emerging field of Emergency/Police First Aid.
- Develop knowledge and skills to support course design; casualty simulation techniques; equipment evaluation and maintenance; operational first aid effectiveness; clinical governance.
- Evaluate the impact of First Aid training design and delivery, identifying areas for improvement which impact on Force performance. Includes the monitoring and feedback of licence compliance and on any factors which impact on effectiveness and efficiency, escalating issues to the L&D Head as required.
- Quality Assurance of all First Aid Training, ensuring compliance with College of Policing, Health & Safety Executive (HSE) Clinical Governance and any other relevant National Guidance. Includes design and development of training material, version control, maintenance of training records, the development of incident reporting and trainer monitoring. Standardisation of training material, assessments and delivery methodology.
- Conduct reviews and debriefs following incidents, ensuring any lessons learned are captured and disseminated. Support the reflective practice process, liaising, where necessary with the Use Of Force Compliance team.

The successful **First Aid Lead **will be required to evidence the following:
- Independent Quality Assurance award/qualification.
- Proven ability to work on own initiative with recent experience in the provision of accurate data, undertaking problem solving, communicating ideas and information effectively, planning, prioritising and organising workloads with the ability to influence at a senior level to ensure relevant processes are maintained and agreed protocols followed.
- Experience of Emergency Life Support and First Aid training delivery with a proven ability to impart knowledge and give constructive feedback effectively and persuasively.
- Experience in leading, supporting and developing trainers ensuring compliance with Continued Professional Development. Issuing action/development plans to improve performance and delivery where necessary.
- Experience in writing statements/reports for internal investigations/the Judicial system.
- Experience in writing and implementing policies and guidance procedures.
