Volunteer & Training Co-ordiantor

**Key Purpose**
Co-ordinate an effective volunteer offer across Lancashire Women. Providing recruitment, training and ongoing support to ensure Hub/Centre and project requirements for volunteers are met and that the service is enhanced through the volunteering offer. Facilitate a range of training to staff and volunteers which contributes to CPD and is in line with the needs of the women we support.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and deliver bespoke volunteer induction and training project specific.
- Refer volunteers onto relevant staff members for tailored support and guidance.
- Provide training and guidance for staff that line manage volunteers.
- Facilitate internal training for both staff and volunteers.
- To induct and oversee the volunteer team addressing performance issues and be responsible for ongoing support evaluating overall team and individual performance. Ensuring quality standards for all processes
- Providing reports on productivity and other performance indicators in line with specific service specifications.
- To be aware of potential risks and safeguarding issues, implementing preventative measures, recording accurately and communicating with senior staff from within Lancashire Women.
- Generate appropriate volunteering opportunities and role descriptions based on the needs of the organisation.
- Raise staff awareness of the role and the function of volunteers - train staff team in volunteer line management.
- Promote volunteering (internally and externally) through recruitment and publicity strategies and campaigns, including profile-raising events.
- Carry out pre-volunteering checks, including references and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks where appropriate.
- Organise rotas and provide inductions and training, as well as debrief interviews for departing volunteers.
- Ensure there is appropriate support and training for volunteers through regular informal contact and more structured reviews.
- Celebrate volunteering by nominating volunteers for awards and organise celebration events.
- To ensure quality of opportunity and standards of care are met.
- Relate positively to other team members and volunteer
**General**:
- To ensure that required standards of health and safety are maintained.
- To work core hours and also work flexibly as and when required including occasional evenings and weekends and support other team members as needed.
- To uphold the policies and ethos of Lancashire Women at all times.
- To be prepared to travel across the county between centres and outreach venues.

**Qualifications**
Training and development qualification or at least 3 years experience in training and development of volunteers/staff - Essential
Counselling, therapeutic, or mental health qualification - Desirable
**Experience**
Management/leadership experience - Essential
Experience of working directly with service users in either a statutory, voluntary or community work setting. Essential
Experience of co-ordinating, mentoring and managing a volunteer team. Essential
Experience of recruitment and selection of volunteers - Essential
Experience of guidance and support of trainees in terms of report writing/supervision 3 years post-qualifying experience - Desirable
**Skills and understanding**
Ability to deliver training packages to volunteers/staff/clients - Essential
Knowledge and understanding of the constraints faced by the voluntary sector - Desirable
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Essential
Ability to needs assess, risk assess and empathise with a client with the skills, knowledge and experience to identify level of risk and need and to act on this accordingly within relevant timescales stepping up when appropriate. Essential
Understanding the need for confidentiality - Essential
Excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills - Essential
IT skills to a good level, including CRM experience - Essential
Knowledge and awareness of issues faced by women in relation to their mental health and wellbeing with the ability to champion and raise awareness of these in a professional capacity - Essential
