This job aims to collaborate with team members in managing the day-to-day care, administration, and organization of a Children's Home, and to be responsible for the Care Plans of several children and young people. The role involves working with children, young people, carers, families, and other agencies to meet the needs of the children in the home, while adhering to statutory regulations and good practice. The position also aims to promote anti-discriminatory and anti-racist practices.

Key responsibilities include assisting in providing a service that addresses the social, emotional, and educational needs of children and young people in the home, safeguarding their welfare, maintaining good professional relationships, and ensuring a clean, hygienic environment. The role also involves observing, reporting on, and supporting the development and outcomes of the children and young people.

Duties include assisting the Registered Manager with home management, formulating assessments, care plans, and supporting children and young people in their transition to adulthood. The role also entails advocating for and supporting children and young people, including representing or accompanying them to various appointments and events. Additionally, organizing and participating in leisure activities, driving duties (if applicable), and acting as a Key Worker to individual children are all part of the role.

The employee is expected to maintain high-quality childcare standards, support the Registered Manager with routine documentation, promote the health and well-being of children and young people in the home, provide a caring and supportive environment, and act as a positive role model. This includes promoting education, exercising appropriate behavior management, working within the home's behavior management policy, and maintaining good records and reports.

Other responsibilities include promoting and maintaining good domestic and material standards in the home, ensuring the rights and needs of children and young people are met, maintaining strong connections with various agencies, attending staff meetings and supervision sessions, and undertaking other duties as directed by the Registered Manager.

The employee will receive regular supervision, accept specific responsibilities, and may operate as a shift leader after gaining 12 months of experience. The role requires undergoing necessary training, attending internal induction courses, and committing to undertaking a QCF Level 3 Children & Families qualification within six months of being in post

**Salary**: £12.00-£15.00 per hour

- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Birmingham, B4 7DJ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Education**:

- Certificate of Higher Education (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Residential Childcare: 1 year (required)
- Support Environment: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

- NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (required)
