**Accounts Assistant - Cardiff**

**12 Month Fixed Term Contract to cover Maternity**

**Salary up to £25,000**

My client is a high-profile/ household named organisation based on the outskirts of Cardiff.

This exciting opportunity has arisen to cover a 12-month maternity contract. My client is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant with a strong emphasis on the sales ledger side. Working and supporting the Management Accountant on a day to day basis, youwill be required to assist with a variety of finance duties.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Responsible for sales ledger processing and assisting with the credit control function
- Chasing a small number of overdue accounts and checking customer credit limits
- Posting sales ledger journal entries including cash and credit card receipts on a daily basis
- Provide administrative support to the finance team in order for monthly accounts to be produced
- Daily bank reconciliations
- Updating the cashbook on a daily basis
- Responsibility of the petty cash
- Input of bank payments and transfers
- Supporting finance team with ad hoc tasks
- Sage 50 experience highly advantageous, coupled with Microsoft Excel

**Person Specification**:

- Experience in a financial role within practice or industry is essential
- An ability to obtain and manage important and confidential information are vital
- Accuracy and skills in calculating figures is vital as is adeptness at paying attention to detail.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and interact with a wide range of staff
- Must have the ability to work on own initiative and under pressure.
- Must have the ability to develop within the role, learn new skills and deal with change.
- Must be highly organised and assertive with strong communication and time management skills
