**HELLO**
We are looking for an experienced, confident and caring phlebotomist to be in charge of our walk-in clinic in **Plymouth.**
**WHO WE ARE?**
**One Day Tests**(Sussex Pathology Ltd) offers a convenient and efficient solution for private health testing in our walk-in blood test clinics around the UK and our own state-of-the-art, CQC registered Pathology Laboratory.
Our private clinics are designed to provide a quick, seamless, and hassle-free experience for those needing immediate blood tests, no GP referral needed. We provide the flexibility of both pre-booked and walk-in appointments for everyone. Blood samples are sent for testing to our own CQC registered Pathology Laboratory to provide accurate and fast diagnostic service.

We have 20 walk-in clinics in the UK and on the mission to open even more
We have already opened our doors for clients in London with clinics at Liverpool Street, Canary Wharf, Victoria and Chiswick, at Brighton and Hove, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Guildford, East Croydon, Cambridge, Maidstone, Exeter, Plymouth, Liverpool, Chelmsford, Bristol, Cheltenham, Oxford, Birmingham, Crawley, Milton Keynes.
Each clinic is assigned to its own Phlebotomist, which means that you will be running your clinic independently. This position is best suited for confident and experienced Phlebotomists and experienced Health Care Providers who had previously successfully worked by themselves without close or direct supervision. It also requires reliable and reasonable (under an hour) commute options and means to reach your clinic in time.
**THE HOURS**
- Your working hours will be from **8.00 till 14.30/15:00 on Mon, Wed and Fri,** 3 days a week, except Bank Holidays.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
- At least 12 months of solid phlebotomy experience after your initial training.
- Exceptional customer service skills - to welcome new walk-in customers to the clinic, provide clear information on the services, prices and tests we offer
- Clear DBS (we will process this on your behalf if needed)
- Up to date immunisation history including MMR and Hep B (if needed we can provide blood testing/vaccination boosts)
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Perform venepuncture and capillary blood collection procedures, ensure that clients are treated safely and courteously at all times and experience the minimum of distress or discomfort throughout the blood sample procedure.
- Ensure accurate client records management and data entry into internal systems.
- Ensure that the samples are correctly labelled and prepared for laboratory testing.
- Daily maintenance and procedures for phlebotomy areas.
- Work within the Company’s Infection Control Policy, principles and guidance in maintaining high standard of hand hygiene and wearing of protective clothing.
- Maintain working stocks of sample vials and other equipment for the clinic.
- Booking new walk-ins customers and taking card payments, providing information regarding our tests and panels.
- Training of new staff if required.
- Sometimes we might also ask you to cover sickness/days off in the nearby clinic in Exeter, travel costs will be covered
**SKILLS**:
- Ability to work unsupervised and independently in your role
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Help clients to make most effective use of resources within the service by ensuring they receive up-to-date information, responding to any questions constructively
- Experience of identifying quality issues and service improvement
- Ability to cope alone as well as to work as part of a team
- Deal effectively with confidential and sensitive information
- Physical skills (e.g. requirement for speed and accuracy, excellent hand-eye coordination and accuracy)
- Able to work in a busy and challenging environment independently
- Able to work under pressure.
**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: From £18.00 per hour
