Field Service Engineer

**Technical Field Service Engineer / Automotive Metal Worker**who has excellent hands-on metal working skills and is competent with PC’s, handheld devices and software is required by a well-established Company based in Birkenhead, Wirral, Merseyside,North West England.

Any experience working as a Fabricator would be highly desirable.

**SALARY**:£25,000 - £30,000 per annum (depending on skills and experience) + Benefits

**LOCATION**:Birkenhead, Wirral, North West England

**JOB TYPE**:Full-Time, Permanent

**WORKING HOURS**:10 Hours per Day, 5 days per week (50 hours per week) including road time and overnight stays up to 4 nights per week

**JOB OVERVIEW**

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Technical Field Service Engineer / Automotive Metal Workerwho has excellent hands-on metal working skills and is competent with PC’s, handheld devices and software.

Working as the Technical Field Service Engineer / Automotive Metal Worker you will fit custom made cabs and canopies to various industrial vehicles.

Your responsibilities as the Technical Field Service Engineer / Automotive Metal Worker will also involve investigating non-conformances and reporting back, attending customer meetings and supporting the Design Department with either measurements or laserscans for proposed works.

As the Technical Field Service Engineer / Automotive Metal Worker, you will work out in the field, visiting customers on site so you must have excellent customer service skills, with a polite and professional manner.

**DUTIES**

Your duties as a Technical Field Service Engineer / Automotive Metal Worker will include:

- Travelling to customer sites, arriving on time and in good shape
- Perform customer jobs (fitting steel and PVC etc.) independently but according to the Company’s procedures and best practices
- Reporting back to your Manager, Customer Service and General Manager regarding the result of the job including:

- The particulars of the job in terms of successes and failures
- Areas to improve regarding the product and customer experience
- Utilising the Company’s Systems including:

- Outlook TS scheduling systems
- MS Outlook software
- Following training:

- Working with your Manager to develop and receive a training plan
- Training includes areas such as technical, communication, IT, H&S, driving etc.
- Control assets including:

- Keeping all assets clean and in good order
- Assessment of additional tools for tools, software and hardware to make you more efficient and effective on site

**IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS**
- Full Clean Drivers Licence
- Excellent hands on metal working skills
- Logical thinking
- Ability to visualise issues and how to resolve them
- Punctual with good manners
- Common sense & customer awareness
- Problem Solving
- Competent with PC’s, handheld devices and software
- Team player that takes pride in work
- Strong communication skills at all levels
- Hard working and flexibility regarding travel and overnight stays

**DESIRABLE SKILLS**
- FLT / Fork Lift Truck Industry Experience
- Fabrication / Fabricator experience
- Good degree of electrical know-how for wiring
