As a creative person with a passion for getting others involved in the work of the National Trust; our Marketing and Communications Officer is responsible for sharing the stories of Rufford Old Hall and the wider portfolio with our visitors on site and our audience online and in print.

What it's like to work here:Rufford Old Hall is a Tudor mansion in Ormskirk home to 500 years of Hesketh family history. You'll be part of the team that helps to welcome 40,000 visitors a year to the House, Gardens, Woodlands and many events throughout the year.

You'll be part of the wider portfolio team, sharing stories and promoting the great work being carried out by the Ranger Team across Gawthorpe Hall and the Stubbins Estate in Lancashire.

Everyday is different in the portfolio, so all of our team are enthusiastic, flexible and able to think on their feet.

You'll be part of the Operations Team, working closely with the Operations Manager (the Line Manager for this role), working alongside the wider property team consisting of our House, Gardens, Ranger, Facilities Programming, Partnerships and Food & Beverage Teams.

What you'll be doing:Day to day, you’ll manage and help develop our annual marketing plan to help achieve our ambitious targets, helping us to reach out to new audiences. This will include defining advertising activities and creating promotional materials and updates (across all media platforms, including social media), writing and distributing press releases and representing us on location filming and broadcast media when you need to.

We're looking for someone who can help us reach larger and more diverse audiences for our places and our digital content. You'll work as part of a team to make sure that we're sharing the best stories we can. Spreading the word about places to visit in the great outdoors, and raising awareness of our conservation work is key to what we're about.

**Who we're looking forTo deliver this role successfully, you'll need to have;**
- A good understanding of marketing techniques, including websites as well as digital and social media
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent digital and social media skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Advanced IT Skills (including Microsoft Office)
- Problem solving skills, and ability to work on own initiative.
