A full time vacancy has arisen for an experienced Education Programmes Officer to join our busy education team within Evelina London. The role is varied and the successful applicant will become a key part of the team. We are looking for a person with a pleasant, friendly manner with excellent IT and communication skills, who is able to work independently as well as part of a team.

The Evelina London Education Programmes Officer will oversee all aspects of operational delivery for a portfolio of education programmes and events to enhance the skills of the Evelina London workforce, build the educational brand, and bring commercial revenue to reinvest in education at Evelina London. This will entail identifying opportunities for new courses, events and programmes for Evelina staff; developing marketing and communications plans; ensuring effective communication with delegates; and ensuring that events and courses are delivered within budget. The Evelina London Education Programmes Officer will have a strategic role, working with the Evelina London Education Manager to horizon scan and propose new programmes for delivery to network or commercial partners; will manage relationships with key network partners; and will be responsible for programme budgets.

The role requires the post holder to have excellent IT skills and knowledge to advise users and facilitate online learning. To be the expert on virtual and moodle platforms to support the education team in delivering high quality education programmes.

The Education team is responsible for supporting staff Education and training at Evelina London. This primarily involves supporting and coordinating supplementary training for all-staff especially nursing and AHP training, but also involves oversight of post-graduate medical education for doctors.

The Education team supports staff to run courses and events. The team was set up so as to give more control over the upskilling of our workforce. It meant we could align education to our own workforce strategy, upskilling staff into hard-to-recruit roles, and aligning staff training to both our future skills requirements and the bespoke needs of our patient population.

We have an established and excellent team and run numerous non-mandatory training programmes: in 21/22 we ran over thirty live events and courses. As members of Guy’s and St Thomas’ we have a fantastic partnership with GSTT’s College of Healthcare and the King’s Health Partners’.

We continue to focus on enhancing and developing our education infrastructure to achieve our vision: Excellent care powered by outstanding education & training for all staff.

Programme Planning & Coordination
- Responsible for the operational management and coordination of multiple Educational teaching programmes and activities at Evelina London and in Evelina specialist networks / relevant local and regional networks.
- Plan and organise multi-disciplinary meetings; manage provision of appropriate trainers, facilitators and materials.
- Work with the clinical leads to organise delivery of sessions in Evelina and our networks.
- Work with the Education Manager to horizon-scan and identify new courses for Evelina and network staff.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of large-scale events on the day, ensuring smooth delivery;
- Support the delivery of externally available programmes and courses where appropriate.
- Where education and training should be provided online, develop content and support the facilitation of delivery of online learning.
- Develop and implement a strategy to engage consultants and multidisciplinary staff in the provision of Education and training needs for Evelina London.
- Plan, organise and implement workshops relevant to education and training needs of Evelina and our networks.
- Ensure suitable venues are booked; ensure provision of appropriate materials.
- Work with the Education Manager to identify new opportunities to expand the training / educational opportunities available to Evelina London and network staff; and to plan and implement programmes, including pilot schemes, to deliver those opportunities.
- Support the delivery of a quality assurance and improvement programme for any training provided, including measuring activities against quality standards through the collection, analysis and reporting of appropriate data, including recommendations for change across multiple services or sites
- Identify and coordinate appropriate service improvement projects in response to performance in quality assurance metrics, particularly feedback from attendees.
