We are currently recruiting for a Quality and Compliance Officer. This role will be responsible for maintaining and updating DP World Southampton's quality management system to ensure compliance with the ISO 9001 quality management standard and corporate functional requirements.
It also plays an essential part in conducting internal audits and quality investigations to identify areas of weakness and make recommendations for process improvement.
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Act as a focal point for quality matters for the business.
- Prepare and present the annual Quality Management System Review to the senior management team.
- Organise an internal audit program -this will include scheduling of audits, conducting internal audits, and producing reports to relevant senior and / or line management, detailing findings with suitable recommendations (where necessary).
- To evaluate, via audit, DP World Southampton’s compliance with its stated company objectives, and Business Risk Assessment and risk controls.
- Complete audits of other terminal management systems as required.
- Conduct investigations where “quality failures” occur including implementing corrective action where necessary.
- Advise Heads of Department and Line Managers on quality matters and to drive continual improvement across all areas of the business.
- Maintain Missing / Misplaced and Damaged Containers logs, conducting bi-monthly reviews with the Operations Team.
- To maintain equipment damage logs and liaise with the UK Claims & Insurance Manager with respect to cargo & equipment damage matters.
- Maintain and update the terminal’s Business Continuity documentation.
- Undertake administrative duties including preparation and update of budgets.
**Person Specification**:
- Conversant with ISO 9001 standards, corporate policies and relevant legislation (Desirable)
- Experience of auditing management systems.
- Ability to create and maintain business procedures and define processes.
- Computer literate with sound knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Reporting writing and data analysis skills.
- Experience of dealing with external organisations / stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Business Continuity principles.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to self-manage time and workload to achieve deadlines.
- Adaptability and flexibility to changing business requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
