**Job Purpose**
Reporting into the Shift Leader and working with the Technical Shift Leader, liaising with other discipline expertise to deliver plans to achieve all manufacturing and product quality targets respecting all budgetary parameters within your defined Line / Area. The effective leadership of the Line / Area including the delivery of role-model behaviours and capable of tracking all key performance indicators through use of a balance dashboard. The management and mentoring of key personnel to enable all employees to understand the expectations of the Company and their legislative requirements

Young’s Seafood Limited is home of the Young’s branded range and is the leading UK fish and seafood processor providing frozen and chilled, branded and retailer branded fish. With a team of over 3,000 people across 11 sites in the UK, including **Pinney’s of Scotland **based in Annan and **Macrae Foods** based in Livingston and Fraserburgh, we work in long-term partnership with our customers to provide responsibly sourced fish to the consumer.

Young’s has over 200 years’ experience in the Seafood market and uses more than 30 species which are sourced from 5 continents. Our team takes products from conception through to production and prepares over 300 million seafood dishes for the UK consumer every year inspiring people to eat fish twice a week.

**Key Accountabilities**
- To exercise diligence and independent judgement to promote transparent, values-led and professional management of your Line / Area.
- To act as a professional and trusted advisor to the Shift Leader and Technical Shift Leader regarding all production and packing / distribution matters relating to your assigned Line / Area.
- To utilise organisational and local MI to identify and prioritise local production and packing agendas to achieve organisational financial and production goals;
- Ensure MI is consistent, honest, open, routinely reviewed.
- Regular constructive engagement with, and co-ordination of, the broader teams (other sites, HSE Depts) to facilitate the local delivery of line goals.
**Skills and Experience Required**
- 3+ years’ experience of management / Line Leading within a manufacturing operation.
- Exposure to major UK retailers and short shelf life products would be an advantage.
- An appreciation of different leadership styles
- Level 3 Food Hygiene
- HAACP
- Experience of CI / Lean / 6 Sigma or other CI methodologies
- Evidential competence in performance management, planning & prioritising, change management, problem solving, decision making, communicating with impact, customer awareness and commercial acumen.
- Evidential competence in people management and development.
