Cafe Assistant

**Job Overview**

The cafe is a community interest company which is based at the Frome Medical Practise. Our main ethos is 'combatting loneliness and isolation within the community' and we work with volunteers and people with additional needs.

**Responsibilities**
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders efficiently
- Serve food and beverages in a professional and courteous manner
- Assist with food preparation and presentation, ensuring quality standards are maintained
- Preparing hot drinks
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including tables, counters, and kitchen surfaces
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth service throughout the day
- Uphold food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Support the team during busy periods by assisting with catering events or special functions
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments using the POS system
- Supporting our volunteers

**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in catering, serving, or hospitality is preferred
- Barista experience is desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work during peak hours
- A proactive attitude with a keen eye for detail

Pay: £12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 18 per week
