he Patient Pathway Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and providing a comprehensive administrative service to the members of the Bariatric Team, ensuring that all aspects of the patient pathway, from referral to treatment and follow up care, is delivered to high quality standards at all times.
To work closely with the Support Managers in the delivery of the Inpatient and Outpatient Service across the Bariatric Service to resolve capacity issues, and escalating any shortfalls if required.
To ensure efficient and effective use of available resources and co-ordinate admissions and outpatient appointments.
To play a central role within these services and to work in close liaison with colleagues, staff in other departments, GPs, patients and the general public.
To exercise initiative, independent judgment and decision making with situations arising from the duties described below to ensure an effective, high quality service.
Ensure good data quality, including checking patients out on the Lorenzo PAS (Patient Administration System) to ensure appropriate income generation; to ensure accurate RTT and income data.
A fantastic opportunity has recently arisen within General Surgery as we are advertising for a Patient Pathway Coordinator, working 37.5 hours a week to join our busy bariatric department within North Bristol NHS Trust. This team are focused on helping manage the administrative processes for bariatric patients in the South West.
The role will be to support all administration aspects of the patient pathway in line with 18 weeks referral to treatment guidelines and cancer pathways, therefore 18 week RTT knowledge would be extremely beneficial.
This role will involve working in the Brunel Building within North Bristol NHS Trust (Southmead Hospital), remote working arrangement can be discussed at the interview

The Tier 3 and Tier 4 bariatric team consists of a multi disciplinary team, which includes Administrators,Dietitians, Psychologist, Endocrinologists, Junior Doctors and Consultants. The bariatric service falls under the General Surgery umbrella which is located within ASCR.
Ensure good data quality, including checking patients out on the Lorenzo PAS (Patient Administration System) to ensure appropriate income generation; to ensure accurate RTT and income data.
To support and work closely with other members of the admin team ensuring workload is managed efficiently and tasks are prioritised appropriately. The role requires good problem solving skills and the ability to prioritise work load.
You will be working within the Tier 3 and Tier 4 service to attend and deliver a weekly MDT meeting where you will be responsible for collating and gathering information prior and after the MDT and recording this information accurately. You will also be responsible for utilising the two bariatric theatre lists per week which run on a Monday and Thursday. Also, ensuring that the patients have an up-to-date pre-op assessment.
We have recently rolled out a new outpatient (Saxenda) clinic within the T3 service which you would also be responsible for, in terms of booking patient appointments and sending letters.
