**The Company of the Commercial Director**
A Commercial Director is sought by a leading UK construction and engineering services group. This fast-expanding business is responsible for project and services delivery across a broad range of blue-chip clients. Due to internal promotion from on-going successis the recruitment of a Commercial Director role to drive the Commercial function and support the strategic direction for the business. The MD seeks a strong individual with experience in the construction or engineering services sectors to drive impact onthe business and support continued growth over the next 3-5 years.
**Key Responsibilities** of the Commercial Director
- Facilitate regular two-way discussions with commercial, operational teams and or development teams and update all on current strategic issues
- Ensure decisions taken are clearly communicated and that relevant individuals have clear guidance to enable successful outcomes
- Use all available resources to produce data to support regional business plans
- Regularly meet clients, consultants and or external influences to enable understanding of medium / long term trends, dynamics, opportunities, and threats
- Ensure that all projects have clear tender and delivery strategies published in a project business plan
- Ensure all bids have a commercial strategy, including demonstration of relevant added value, and where appropriate co-ordinated with the Development Strategy
- Identify significant opportunities for change to add value across the business and effectively manage the change process
**Skills & Attributes** of the Commercial Director
- Experience of the construction or engineering sectors
- MRICS/FRICS Chartered Quantity Surveyor is preferable
- Positive and constructive outlook with excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrable experience of driving cross-functional relationships
- Powerful analytical thinking and problem-solving skills; being able to work effectively under time pressure with a hands-on approach
- Excellent communication skills, with a flexible and approachable manner; both written and verbal, for preparation of and delivery of reports and analyses
- Show successful leadership skills, being a natural communicator who can influence and negotiate with individuals across the business
