**Job description**:
The Department for Transport (DfT) is looking for a creative, social-first content creator to join our Digital Communications team. You’ll play a key role in developing compelling video and photography to support our social media strategy and bring government communications to life.

You’ll lead end-to-end production for campaigns and announcements—crafting engaging digital stories, developing innovative formats, and growing our reach across platforms including Meta, X, and YouTube. Strong expertise in video, photography, and social media trends is essential.

Reporting to the Senior Creative Content Producer, you’ll work closely with Ministers, stakeholders, and other creatives to deliver impactful content that explains transport policy and connects with the public. You'll also contribute to shaping content strategy and exploring new ways to tell our stories.

We're looking for someone with a proven track record in creating standout digital content, strong organisational skills, and the confidence to direct and produce senior stakeholders. You should be equally comfortable shooting with professional equipment or editing on a mobile device—adapting to fast-paced situations with a flexible, solution-focused mindset.

Frequent UK travel, with possible overnight stays, is required to support production on ministerial visits and events, so adaptability is essential.

Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

- Ideate, develop and produce innovative, high-quality social content optimised for individual social channels, including high-profile announcements, long-term campaigns, case studies, interviews with the public, and working with influencers and content creators
- Collaborate with other video producers, designers, strategists, video, design and social leads to ensure visual consistency across all the department’s digital content
- Lead production of creative content for major announcements and campaign moments
- Use insight gained to assess the effectiveness of content used on social/digital media channels and to recognise patterns and trends, drawing key conclusions to help improve the impact of our digital communication

For further information on the role, please read the role profile_. _Please note that the role profile is for information purposes only - whilst all elements are relevant to the role, they may not all be assessed during the recruitment process. This job advert will detail exactly what will be assessed during the recruitment process.

**Person specification**:
Required experience:

- Social-first approach to video content planning and production, including an expert understanding of best-in-class creative content on social platforms
- Expertise in a wide range of filming equipment, including DSLR cameras, microphones, lighting equipment and green screen filming
- Proficiency across the Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Premiere Pro and After Effects
- Ability to create content in studio and on location and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to pitch innovative new content formats and ideas
- Experience working collaboratively
