**Senior Hydrologist**:
**Why Gavia?**:
Our Directors offer over 50 years’ experience in consultancy and are well renowned in the industry for providing pragmatic, practical and solution orientated advice. We have a range of projects across the UK: in Scotland this largely takes the form of EIA chapter production, flood risk assessments, peat depth surveys, and water quality monitoring.

The Gavia team takes pride in providing knowledgeable and experienced staff to ensure that our client needs are met throughout the project timeline.

**The Role**:
The key skills/attributes required for this Senior Hydrologist role are:

- 5+ years of relevant industry experience (or similar demonstrable skills).
- A full member of (or working towards) a relevant professional body, e.g. CIWEM, ICE.
- Demonstrable experience working within the Scottish marketplace within the energy, renewables and linear infrastructure and development sectors, including consultations with SEPA, NatureScot, Scottish Water and other local flood risk authorities. Experience working within England and Wales would be advantageous.
- Experience in peatland management, including reporting, data collection and fieldwork.
- Previous project management experience relating to hydrology and hydrogeology projects.
- An understanding of the requirements of the planning process (including for EIA, NSIPs and DCOs), with relation to hydrology and hydrogeology.
- A competent user of QGIS.
- CSCS card
- Outdoor Emergency First Aid certified
- Lantra 4×4 Driving certified
- A full driving licence suitable for the UK.

**Salary & Benefits**:
Gavia offers an attractive salary of £40-55k (depending on experience), along with other benefits, including: hybrid working, 25 days holiday + Scottish Bank Holidays, holiday purchase scheme, contributory pension scheme, Cycle-to-Work Scheme, Discounted IT purchases, Health Insurance and contribution to gym membership.

Additionally, we aim to provide logístical and administrative support at all levels to minimise expenses for staff with: pool cars/vans and fuel cards available, accommodation pre-booked/paid, Site Based PPE Provided, Outdoor Thermal/Waterproof Clothing and Walking and Safety Boots Provided, equipment required for the role will also be provided e.g. computer, tablet, mobile phone, binoculars, weather-writers, etc.

**Additional Information**:
For this role, you must have evidence of the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer a relocation package with this job role.
