Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Responsible for the supervision of the day-to-day operations of the Linen delivery services.

Responsible for organising the checking, storing and issue of clean linen.

To maintain all records required for the efficient and effective provision of such services including Staff Attendance, Accident Reports and Payroll Information.

To meet regularly with the Laundry Management Team to review the service and promote improvements in service delivery and specifications.

To cover for the ordering, receipt and record keeping of staff uniforms, garments.

To assess when required the amounts of linen issued to the Ward/Departments in variance to the set quotas based on linen stock levels found or information supplied.

To respond to urgent ad-hoc requests for linen and to pack or distribute such items as required to enable customer needs to be met.

To perform all the duties of a Linen Service Assistant as and when required and cover across the trust areas as required.

To undergo training when required, if identified as appropriate by the Trust.

To assist in the recruitment, selection, training, and development of personnel.

Ensure that safe working practices are always maintained and that duties are performed in accordance with Health and Safety and other relevant statutory regulations.

Comply with Trust Policy and Management instruction regarding Health and Safety and fire prevention and not to do anything that may endanger yourself and others.

Any other duties that may reasonably be required by your manager from time to time.Person specification

**Qualifications**:
Essential criteria
- Qualification in Maths / English
- Numerate & Literate

Desirable criteria
- Qualification in Health & safety Awareness / training
- Recognised qualification or training in management or supervision.
- NVQ level 2 Laundry Service or equivalent experience

**Skills**:
Essential criteria
- Basic keyboard skills.

Desirable criteria
- Flexibility to work irregular hours as required, weekends, Bank Holidays
- Interpersonal communication skills
- Leadership or supervisory abilities.

Experience

Desirable criteria
- Appropriate ancillary, factory or retail experience.
- Some supervisory experience or evidence of responsibility
- Awareness of Health & Safety Issues.
- IT Qualification or training
