**Responsible Individual - Ofsted Children’s Residential Services**
**Location**: Remote, with regular travel across Greater London and Bedfordshire
**Salary**: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum (including performance bonus)
**Contract**: Full-time, Permanent
**Schedule**: Monday to Friday

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Social Care Consultant to provide strategic leadership, oversight, and support across multiple children’s residential homes throughout Greater London and Bedfordshire.
This senior consultancy role offers the opportunity to shape service quality at a strategic level, raise standards of care, and directly improve outcomes for children and young people. You will act as a trusted advisor to Registered Managers and senior leaders, embedding safeguarding best practice, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all services meet or exceed Ofsted regulations, the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards.
- Provide expert consultancy, coaching, and mentoring to Registered Managers.
- Lead on safeguarding, embedding transparent and accountable practice.
- Support homes through Ofsted inspections to secure ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ ratings.
- Advise on operational structures, staffing, budgets, and resource management.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory bodies.
- Drive workforce development, training, and performance management to build skilled and confident teams.
- Foster a culture of reflection, accountability, and continuous learning.
About You
- Minimum of 3 years’ senior leadership or consultancy experience in children’s residential care.
- NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/working towards).
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, Ofsted frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of improving outcomes and influencing best practice.
- Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel throughout Greater London and Bedfordshire.
