Assistant Strategic Buyer - Directs

We’re currently looking for an assistant Strategic Buyer to join a well-established Chemical company operating across multiple sites in the North West.

**Responsibilities;**
- Working in collaboration with the Strategic Buyers (BU PRO, Categories) in the HQ developing and executing commercial sourcing strategies balancing cost, quality and risk in line with the BU business strategies
- Initiates procurement programs/ targets (KPI) and elaborates/ensures savings for the portfolio that have been allocated to a strategic buyer
- Ensures sustainable global supply of raw materials needed for BUs (e.g. TfS)
- Manages communication and information: Networking with GPL organizations in the respective regions, mid
- and short-term price forecasting, market and trend reports, early warnings
- Ensures cross-functional integration of GPL activities with R&D, Sales, Marketing and Manufacturing of BU
- Monitor supplier performance (e.g., through SAP and other reports) and expedite and resolve issues as necessary
- Managing high price volatilities; ensures competitiveness in increasing market complexity; focuses on sustainability of supply chains; monitoring global changes of raw material trade flows

**Experience Required;**
- CIPS level 4 preferred, but not essential; buying (or selling) chemicals for UK market
- Proven experience in creating benefits from negotiating commercials with suppliers and respective analytics
- Procurement process understanding for Chemicals including interfaces with production plants in the chemical industry
- ERP system experience (SAP + similar)
