Consultant Paediatrician

Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant General Paediatrician post to join a growing team of General and Community Paediatricians at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead. The Paediatric team provide services from a dedicated Children’s Outpatient department, as well as a 24 hour Children’s Short Stay Assessment Unit and a Special Care Baby Unit.

The post is initially for six months and will then subsequently be advertised as a substantive post.

The posts include contributing to the general paediatric service with some daytime support of the acute service, general paediatric outpatient clinics and participating in the acute paediatric consultant on-call rota at the QE Gateshead. A special interest is welcome.

Contribution to the ongoing improvement and development of services is an integral part of the consultant role but is particularly important to the department at this time when there is redevelopment of the out-patient services. The appointee will also be expected to contribute to all areas of teaching and training.
