**Team description**:
CGTN's digital team is responsible for output across the website, social media and other third party platforms such as OTT, podcasts, news aggregators and other partners. As well as creating original content, the digital team work closely with the Global Business, Agenda and Razor teams to adapt and optimise their output for digital platforms.

**Background to the role**:
As a recent entrant into the European media market, CGTN uses social media to reach a wide range of audiences. Our platform-neutral approach to commissioning means that we are consistent in our coverage topics across television, website and social platforms while using different formats to tell those stories.

With a presence across a number of channels, CGTN tailors its content to different requirements and puts social media at the top of its publication priorities.

Areas such as the environment, health, general news and cross-border culture are central to our coverage, with a particular focus on video. CGTN is expanding ambitiously and often experiments with new approaches to meet changing audience demand.

**Job objectives**:

- Create and publish content across social platforms
- Adapt material from correspondents for social media output
- Co-ordinate with correspondents and producers to ensure their output meets social media requirements
- Monitor performance of content on social using analytics and feed back
**Person specification**:
A strong presence on different channels is a plus and video and photo editing skills are important.

**Essential**:

- Be familiar with common editing platforms, notably Adobe Premiere
- Understand different storytelling formats
- Have a track record of working to deadline
- Be a strong team player and excellent communicator
- Be able to work fast and error free
- Excellent written work
- Understanding of analytics
